In 1899, the frontier town of Crimson Hollow sits between towering canyon walls and dense pine forests. The town began as a mining settlement after prospectors discovered silver deep within the red rock mountains.
But when miners opened the seventh shaft — Mine 7 — they uncovered something far older than silver. Ancient carvings covered the cavern walls and strange whispers echoed through the tunnels. Soon after, workers began disappearing.
The mine was sealed, but whatever had been awakened beneath the valley did not remain buried.
Vampires of the frontier trace their bloodline to a figure known only as the First Crimson. No one knows his true name or origin.
Stories say he arrived in the west decades ago and began creating Crimsonkin through a dark ritual known as the Embrace. Those who receive his blood gain immortality but must feed upon the living.
Many believe the First Crimson now resides somewhere beneath Crimson Hollow itself.
